We are so excited to have Lisa Miller here with us on Thursday, August 12th at 7pm for what will undoubtedly be a night of lively and interesting conversation. Thanks to her local friends for helping to make this happen. Lisa will also be here for this year's Brattleboro Literary Festival.

The book Heaven: Our Enduring Fascination with the Afterlife has recieved critical acclaim and Lisa herself has been widely recognized for her writing at Newsweek. The book asks a deceptively simple question, what is heaven? Eighty percent of Americans say they believe in heaven, yet very few of them can articulate anything specific aobu their belief. For over 2,000 years, individuals and communities have contemplated the idea of heaven - what heaven is, what it looks like, what it means in our lives. Though perspectives on heaven differ across faithes and throughout histor, the desire for an afterlife has remained universal across religious traditions.
